2. Information We Collect
We collect several categories of information to provide and improve our service:

- IP address (anonymized where possible)

2.4 Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Dodo Payments as the merchant of record. We do not store your full credit card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive payment credentials on our servers. We may retain transaction identifiers and billing email addresses for account management and dispute resolution purposes.
2.5 Video Content
Videos you upload are processed temporarily on our servers for analysis and clip generation. Your files are automatically deleted according to your subscription tier's retention schedule (see Section 9). We do not review uploaded content unless required for security, legal compliance, or enforcement of our policies.
2.6 Communications
If you contact us for support or send us feedback, we collect the information you provide in those communications, including your email address and the content of your message.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to fulfill our contract with you, including providing the Service, processing your videos, and managing your account and billing.
- Legitimate interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate interests, such as improving the Service, preventing fraud and abuse, and maintaining security — provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
- Consent: Processing based on your explicit consent, such as marketing communications and optional tracking technologies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: Processing necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations, such as responding to lawful requests or retaining records for tax purposes.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our video processing service
- Process your videos and generate clips, transcripts, and AI analysis as requested
- Send real-time notifications about processing job status
- Process payments and manage your credit balance
- Communicate with you about service updates, support, and (with your consent) marketing
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies
- Generate aggregated, anonymized analytics that do not identify individual users
5. AI Processing & Data Governance
Video analysis on Clipperia runs on Google Cloud Vertex AI, subject to Google Cloud's enterprise data-governance terms. Under these terms:
- Your video content is processed solely to provide the Service and is not retained by Google beyond the processing session;
- Your data is not used to train Google's AI models. This is a contractual commitment under Google Cloud's enterprise data processing agreement;
- Google Cloud maintains industry-recognized security certifications, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
Clipperia does not use your uploaded videos or Generated Content to train, fine-tune, or improve any artificial intelligence models, whether our own or those of third parties.
AI processing may involve automated decision-making, including profanity detection and viral moment identification. These decisions affect only the Service output and do not produce legal effects or similarly significant consequences for you. You may request human review of any automated decision by contacting us.
6. Subprocessors
We use the following trusted third-party subprocessors to deliver the Service. Each subprocessor is contractually bound to process data only on our documented instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection laws:
- Google Cloud — Vertex AI (video analysis, AI inference), Google Cloud Storage (temporary file staging). Data processed in the United States.
- Cloudflare R2 — Object storage for uploaded videos and generated clips. Data processed in the United States.
- Neon — PostgreSQL database hosting (account data, job metadata). Data processed in the United States.
- Upstash — Redis-compatible cache and job queues. Data processed in the United States.
- RunPod — GPU processing for video transcoding and censorship. Data processed in the United States.
- Dodo Payments — Payment processing (merchant of record). Data processed in accordance with Dodo Payments' privacy policy.
- Mailgun — Transactional email delivery. Data processed in the United States.
- Plausible Analytics — Privacy-focused, cookieless web analytics. No personal data is collected or stored.
- Meta Pixel — Advertising conversion tracking. Only activated when you have provided explicit marketing consent.
We will notify you of any material changes to our subprocessors by updating this page. You may request a current list of subprocessors at any time by contacting privacy@clipperia.app.
7. Data Storage and Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to protect your personal information. These measures include:
- TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Encryption at rest for stored data
- Access controls, authentication, and least-privilege principles
- Regular security updates and vulnerability patching
- Secure cloud infrastructure provided by reputable vendors
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to keep your account credentials confidential.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. However, certain uses of advertising technologies described below may constitute "sharing" or "selling" under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar state privacy laws. See Section 14 for your opt-out rights.
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Subprocessors: With the third-party services listed in Section 6, under data processing agreements that limit the purposes and means of processing.
- Advertising Partners: When you have provided marketing consent, we share limited identifiers (such as a hashed email address, IP address, or device identifiers) with Meta Platforms, Inc. through Meta Pixel for advertising conversion tracking and cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. This sharing may constitute a "share" under the CCPA. You may opt out at any time as described in Section 14 and through our cookie consent mechanism.
- Legal Compliance: When required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Clipperia, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or a substantial portion of our assets. In such event, we will notify you of any change in ownership and any choices you may have regarding your information.
- With Your Consent: When you have given us your explicit consent to share information for a specific purpose.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Video content and generated clips are automatically deleted according to your subscription tier:
- Free tier: 3 days
- Starter tier: 30 days
- Pro tier: 180 days
Account data (email, name, settings) is retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account closure.
Transaction records (billing history, credit purchases) are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years as required by applicable tax and accounting obligations.
Server logs containing IP addresses and access metadata are retained for up to ninety (90) days for security and fraud prevention purposes, then automatically purged.
Support communications are retained for up to two (2) years after resolution for quality and reference purposes.
You may delete your content or your entire account at any time through the Service. Upon account deletion, all associated data will be removed in accordance with the retention periods above.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data (also available directly through your account settings).
- Portability: Request your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Restriction: Request that we limit the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Objection: Object to processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests, unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Opt-out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential Cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and core functionality. These cannot be disabled without affecting the Service.
- Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual users across sessions or websites.
- Marketing: Meta Pixel is only activated when you have provided explicit marketing consent through our cookie consent mechanism. When active, Meta Pixel may share limited identifiers with Meta for advertising purposes. You may revoke consent or opt out of this sharing at any time through our cookie consent mechanism or as described in Section 14.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not function properly without essential cookies.
12. Children's Privacy
Clipperia is not directed to users under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the European Economic Area, or the age of digital consent in your member state if lower than 16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child below the applicable minimum age, we will take commercially reasonable steps to delete such information promptly.

13. International Data Transfers
Clipperia's infrastructure and subprocessors are primarily located in the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where our subprocessors operate.
When we transfer personal data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect your information, which may include:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or other competent authority;
- Reliance on adequacy decisions issued by the European Commission or other competent authority;
- Other legally recognized transfer mechanisms as required by applicable data protection law.

14. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:
- Right to Know: Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share personal information.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: Under the CPRA, "sharing" includes disclosing personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. When you consent to Meta Pixel, we share limited identifiers (such as hashed email, IP address, or device identifiers) with Meta Platforms, Inc. for advertising conversion tracking. You have the right to opt out of this sharing at any time.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect categories of sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
To opt out of the sharing of your personal information with Meta for advertising purposes, you may:
- Withdraw your marketing consent through our cookie consent banner or your account settings;
- Enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honor;
- Contact us at privacy@clipperia.app with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share."
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Categories of Information Shared for Advertising
In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have shared the following categories of personal information with Meta for advertising purposes: identifiers (such as hashed email address, IP address, and device identifiers) and internet activity information (such as pages visited and conversion events).
Submitting a CCPA/CPRA Request
To submit a request, contact us at privacy@clipperia.app. We will respond within 45 days, with a possible extension of up to 90 additional days upon notice to you. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf by providing a written authorization signed by you.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes that materially affect how we handle your personal information, we will also provide notice via email or an in-app notification.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
